Mark was a well-recognised figure within the motorcycling industry having worked for Dunlop for over 25 years.

Mark was a valued member of the Dunlop team with his career starting in 1988 within the Dunlop Motorsport division.

He was a charismatic, devoted, passionate and knowledgeable motorcycle expert who worked across many areas of the Dunlop business.

During the 1990’s and early 2000’s Mark was key member of the Motorcycle Motorsport Design Team, during this period he designed some of the most successful motorsport tyres in the industry, taking Dunlop to victory time and time again. He contributed to numerous patents on products like KR slicks and the street legal Supersport range, which would go on to win innumerable races and championships. He teamed up with racing icons such as Scott Russell, Noriyuki Haga and Mat Mladin during their rise to World Superbike and American AMA stardom, clocking up over 1 million air miles in the process.

His professional accolades didn’t stop there, with Mark achieving a Certificate in Marketing through the Chartered Institute of Marketing and CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Management and Leadership (QCF).

Mark’s hard work, effort and determination saw him to transition across from the Motorsport Division into the UK Sales operation, working within the Marketing team for the last five years.

In his marketing role Mark took the company’s sponsorship of the Isle of Man TT to another level, as well as being the face of the brand at many motorcycling events such as Motorcycle Live, Dirt Bike Show and Weston Beach Race. He was a friendly and familiar face at these shows, his effortless ability to spark conversation with people from the industry, as well as members of the public, kept them coming back for more.

He was focused on his ambition to ensure that Dunlop Motorcycle Tyres were presented to the industry and to the public in a professional manner, ensuring that he delivered for customers.

His technical knowledge was second to none and his breadth of experience will be sorely missed by hundreds of people within the motorcycling industry. What Mark didn’t know about tyres or motorcycles probably wasn’t worth knowing. The motorcycle and tyre industry has lost a very rare and brilliant individual.

Mark had hundreds of friends and colleagues within the industry and often built his work on the great relationships that he developed. Mark has left behind a true legacy, which will positively affect the way things are done at Dunlop for a long time to come. Every member of the Dunlop team who knew Mark and worked alongside him will remember him with great affection.

It is often the people that you meet in life that really make a difference and give you the tools to succeed through sharing their knowledge and experiences. Mark was one of these people, always offering to help and ensuring that things go well, educating fellow colleagues for the better of the company. He will leave a lasting impression on many people. Mark will never be forgotten at Dunlop and his legacy will live on for a long time to come.
