International Dirt Bike Show, Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th November 2011, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire

Suzuki GB has confirmed its commitment to the International Dirt Bike Show, the Suzuki off-road dealer network and fans of the marque by taking the inside line back to Europe's largest off-road show after an absence of two years. Whatever the corporate reason for this about-turn, it can only be good for the off-road industry and its end-user customers to have yet another major company showcasing at the International Dirt Bike Show in its own right.

Suzuki joins KTM, Kawasaki, Husqvarna, Husaberg, CCM, GasGas and Montesa, who will all use Stoneleigh Park exhibition as a launch pad for their 2012 model ranges, and it will be interesting to see if others follow the trend back to the dedicated dirt bike exhibition.

With the announcement that Suzuki is heading back to its grass roots comes the news that the Suzuki Off-Road Experience will also be in full swing at the Show. Using Suzuki DR-Z125 and DR-Z70 models, this feature is where novice riders can get a taste of what it's like to ride. This is certain to be a popular activity and the organisers say that visitors would be well advised to book in early on the day to secure their Experience session.

Not content with just returning to the Show to share its 2012 line-up with consumers, Suzuki is also taking its dealer support one stage further by booking facilities at Stoneleigh Park for its annual off-road dealer meeting, during the same week. This would appear to make perfect sense and is sure to appeal to the dealers who have that bit further to travel.

One long-time Suzuki dealer who welcomed the news of the Japanese company's return to the International Dirt Bike Show is Stephen Russell of Russells Motorcycles, Northern Ireland, who said: "I'm delighted by this announcement. This move will show the off-road rider that, in terms of off-road manufacturers, the Japanese fire is still alight. I truly hope this is a long-term commitment to the show and the off-road sector."

Paul de Lusignan, Suzuki GB's general manager, endorsed Russell's sentiments, adding, "We're delighted to be back at the International Dirt Bike Show for 2011. The show offers us the perfect opportunity to engage with off-road riders and race fans, while being able to showcase our 2012 model line-up."
