GRAB A STALKER SUPER SAVER AT THE DIRT BIKE SHOW |
Popular World and British Superbike racer Chris 'Stalker' Walker is going back to his motocross roots. As the doors open on the 2011 International Dirt Bike Show, Walker will get the keys to the Gonerby Moor MX practice track in Lincolnshire.
Having ridden motocross since the age of three, Walker is passionate about the sport and, with his new venture, is aiming to make it a fun and affordable hobby for riders of all levels and capabilities.
"There aren't masses of places where people can go and ride for fun without having to break the bank," said Walker. "We've got loads of plans for Gonerby Moor to make it a facility that the whole family can enjoy. What's more, we appreciate that not everyone has the luxury of owning their own bike and so we'll have a range of bikes and gear available for hire at a modest fee.
"I've always wanted to own my own track and for me, a practice track is even better as everyone gets something out of it whatever their ability. We hope it will encourage more riders to have a go at motocross. We'll be open through the winter whilst also refurbishing the track and facilities and plan to have a grand re-opening next spring. With my own track to practice on now, I'll be ready to compete with the Vets when I turn 40 next year!"
Under his Stalker MX banner, Walker will be at the upcoming International Dirt Bike Show, sharing a stand with Science in Sport, which kicks off at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire this Thursday 3rd November and runs through to Sunday 6th November. Visitors can purchase a special Show price Super Saver 10-day track pass for just £100 for adults and £75 for youth riders.
