FUN ON FRIDAY |
As the doors closed on a fun-filled day two of the 2011 International Dirt Bike Show, the feedback from departing visitors was of a day jam-packed with fun and activity, while from the exhibitors, one of productivity.
A number of 'lapsed' show-goers expressed surprise and delight at the sheer size of the show with its four exhibition halls crammed with 2012 machinery, parts, accessories and gadgets a-plenty. There were plenty of deals to be had and competitions to be won and for the families at the Show today, the free-of-charge activities offered the youngsters the chance to let off some steam. The Spider Man climbing wall proved to be a tough challenge for many, with kids queuing to try another stab at conquering the demanding climb. One family of off-road enthusiasts were thrilled by the number of free 'rides', stating that in these tough times when everyone is watching the pennies, it was refreshing not to be hit by additional costs once they were in the door.
Whilst the second day of the Show was visibly not as busy as the half-priced opening day, the overwhelming response from exhibitors was that of a steady flow of people-traffic and quality business.
KTM UK's Shaun Sisterson said; "Quality over quantity seems to have been the way. The stand was crammed yesterday, but today we had people spending more time looking at the bikes. Tomorrow is the day we're really excited about as we have a new team rider announcement to make and also have a heady line-up of riders due to make appearances including top European racers Jeff Herlings and Kevin Strijbos."
From Slovenia, Sava Tyres are exhibiting at the Show for the first time this year and Sales Executive Miodrag Rustic reported huge interest in the Slovenian-produced off-road rubber. "It has been hugely beneficial for Sava to be here," he said. "We are already well known for our scooter tyres, but our off-road products are not so familiar to the UK public. This Show has presented us with an ideal opportunity to showcase Sava and I think we'll have a good platform from which to grow our market share."
Retail-wise, Ben Davies from Fro Systems was equally enthusiastic, saying; "It's been as good today as it was yesterday, with people coming on to the stand with the purpose of making a purchase. I personally believe that one of the reasons this show is so popular with off-road fans is because the admission price is capped at a sensible level and visitors know that, once they're here, they won't be hit by having to pay for add-ons."
The International Dirt Bike Show reopens tomorrow 5th November with the doors opening at 9.30am and fireworks kick off with a superstar-packed stage programme from 10.45am.
